i had a car accident on 3/11/07. this was my 4th that wasn't my fault and the first i got a lawyer for. the adjuster for the other guys insurance offered me a settlement that barely covered the med bills. i turned it down. then after about 10 months i found out the lawyer didn't pass the Pa. bar and since the accident happened there, thats where i would have to go to court if it goes that far. he has friends at another firm that he knows and they are working with him. i haven't seen the other lawyer yet but they say they are working for me on my case. it seems like its taking forever. the dr. i was seeing didn't help much but push meds and told me he only saw accident victims for 6 months and then i would just have to live with the pain the rest of my life. then my family dr. told me to file for disability and that seems like its taking forever. things around the house are so tight that we can't get all the bills paid each month and have to pick which ones get paid. the car i was forced to get due to not having good credit is a piece of junk that cost the dealer about $3000.00 in repairs before i could drive it and monthly payments are $280.00 and we can only make 1 payment so we are behind over $800.00 and they are getting ready to reposses the car. at this time, i don't know what to do. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

i am in the same boat but surgery should be last resort. i have had 4 car accidents. the last one was the worst i think but the others were pretty bad too. i can no longer work. in pain everyday and nothing helps. the worst thing about this last one is i have to rely on g/f to pay the bills and she is disabled. my car payment is 850.00 overdue in back payments and they are threatening to take it away. no unemployment. dr. told me to file for disability but that seems to be taking forever. i am at the end of my rope but i know surgery is the last thing you want to have done. they wanted to operate on my neck from my last accident and after doing research found that there was only a 15% chance i would make it out without being paralized, i told they to get lost and i would deal with the pain. dont know how much that helps but we are basically in the same condition. i heard that accupuncture works. and a colon specialist i went to said that they were using botox injections at the point where the pain is and it has helped thousands of people.

not really sure how this works but i guess it says post something and then whatever, not really sure. basically i am behind on car payment because accident has left me unable to work. have gone to social services and get a little help from them but not enough. g/f and her daughter are disabled and her mom gets retirement so we have a limited income. i was denied unemployment because i am not able to qualify under rules. have had no income since accident and we have to choose what bills get paid each month. car payments are 280 per month and we are 800 + behind. doctor told me to file for disability but it seems like they are taking their time. i hate having to rely on others to get my bills paid but i'm at the end of my rope.

to start things off a little about personal history that got me in this position. i was in a car accident on 3/11/07. have not been able to work because of injuries from the accident. i live with my g/f, her daughter and her mom, also my daughter. my g/f and her daughter are disabled and her mom is retired. we have a fixed income and since my accident it has been hard to get all the bills paid. i went to social services and got a medical card for me and my daughter and we get food stamps that dont even get all the food we need for the month. also using an agency called food sunday that gives some food based on family size. we have almost $2,000.00 monthly bills and we are having to choose which bills get paid and which ones get partial payment. the one that has always gotten the short end is the car payment. due to the accident and having poor credit, i was forced into getting a car that was not a good deal. payments are $280.00 a month. they had to put almost $3000.00 in repairs (used engine, alternator, temp guage, starter, and radio) at the time i had no choice in the car situation. we are behind in payments in the amount of over $800.00 because we can only make one payment a month. i tried to get temporary cash assistance but got turned down because my former employer didn't fill out the required paperwork that they needed. my family doctor told me to file for disability and that is in process of waiting for doctors to return info before they proceede with decision. i have a lawyer for the accident but it seems lke they are taking their time and the adjuster isnt offering enough for me to settle so, that is going to most likely end up i court. i am almost at the end of the rope and dont know how to get out of the situation or how much longer it will take. the accident has also caused extra stress on my relationship and thats almost over because of this. i feel at least we have a roof, food, a car but dont know for how much longer because they are getting ready to reposses the car because we cant make all the payments. dont know how we are going to get the car payments caught up so we can keep the car. things are geting to the point that i dont know what to do about the car. any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. once i get my settlement, i would be more than willing to help others because that was how i was raised. i have already exhausted the family and friends of the family for support at this time and am hunbling myself to ask for assistance because it makes me depressed that i can't go out and get a job because of the injuries will not permit me to handle a normal job. its hard to sit for more than 1 1/2 hours, walk any distances, stand for more than 2 hours, and i can not lift anything over 10 pounds. the doctor i was seeing for the accident is not seeing me anymore and when he was, he basically asked if i needed more medications and told me i had to find a new line of work but didnt give any suggestions. also said there was nothing wrong with me but i am still having muscle spasms and the trouble with everything else. i need help for my family and i am opening myself up to any that i can receive. thank you.
